Rendang

(Indonesian cuisine)
Rendang
ingredients:
·          ½ kg beef thigh
·         2 ½ liters of coconut milk from 2 coconuts
·         ½ finger galangal, crushed
·         1 stalk lemongrass
·         1 sheet turmeric leaf
·         Asam Jawa
·         Cucumber
seasoning:
·         20 pieces of red onion
·         6 cloves garlic
·         1 cm turmeric
·         1 cm ginger
·         300 grams of red pepper
·         Salt to taste
·         all ingredients mashed
How to make:
1.     Cut meat rectangular with size 4x4 cm
2.    Put the pieces of meat and spice paste to the pan (skillet).
3.    Enter the coconut milk, galangal, lemongrass, turmeric and tamarind leaves.
4.    Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently. Stir until boiling and thickened coconut milk
5.    Fire reduced, then stir and cook until coconut milk dries and becomes brownish color. Kurng cook 3 ½ hours
6.    Serve with rice is still hot and cucumber
7.    For coconut, dried coconut choose and not be discarded coconut shell (do not peel oil to coconut milk expend a lot)
